The story

Eyeglass House was started by Joseph Lerner on July 11th 1990. Our goal was and still is to provide a unique eyeglass purchasing encounter for the customer. After years of watching and hearing stories of unhappy customer experiences, Joseph decided to start an optical business that would cater to the customers wishes by listening to their visual needs. His vast knowledge of eyeglass lenses always provides a happy customer.

The mission

Our goal is to provide the best pair of glasses possible that will allow you to see great and look great. We achieve this goal with careful consideration of your visual needs and individual lifestyle. Our New York State licensed opticians will educate you in the latest lens designs, coating technology and frame styles from our unique collections.

Joseph Lerner

Joseph has owned Eyeglass House since July 1990. He became a NYS licensed optician in 1983 and trained for 8 years at an upscale NYC eyewear boutique before purchasing Eyeglass House. Joseph has designed and nationally distributed his own frame line, he is also a beta tester for a prominent manufacturer of lens edging equipment. Joseph is married and has two children. He enjoys road biking and weight training. 

Gail DeClue

Meet Gail. She is a PTA, soccer mom to two beautiful girls. With her husband and daughters, she likes to take long walks on the beach and ski down a  mountain of fresh snow. Gail is a NYS licensed  Optician, has been with Eyeglass House for over 13 years and has 20+ years experience in the optical field. Gail's witty honesty makes your frame selection process easy. She is on top of all the latests trends and lens technologies. She promises you will leave Eyeglass House LOVING your new eyewear. 

Ilissa Cerbone

I started my optical career in 1992. Being a part of the Eyeglass House family for the past 27 years has allowed me to create long lasting relationships with my patients. They trust me with their eyes and know that I will make them “see” and “look” their best with their eyewear. I am married and have 2 teenage boys. I love spending my summers at the beach and I also love to travel with my family.

Laura Lerner

Laura Lerner is co-owner, office manager, and frame stylist. She enjoys helping customers narrow down their frame selections to achieve the best look and fit possible. Laura is married to Joseph and they have two children. She loves spending time dining as a family and vacationing together. In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym, playing tennis, and being with friends.
